Everyone is welcome

Adults from many walks of life are welcome.

The same process, the same rate, and the same respect apply to every person who calls.

The Argo House is a shared home in Northeast Dallas, near Lakewood and White Rock Lake. Adults come to a home like this from many directions. Some are veterans. Some are older adults who want a simpler way to live. Some are working and want one steady payment. Some are living on SSI or another fixed income. Some are starting over after a move, a loss, a hospital stay, or another change.

Whoever you are, you are welcome to call. Everyone goes through the same steps, pays the same rate, and is treated with the same courtesy. This page explains how that works and points you to the pages written with your situation in mind.

One Process for Everyone

Every person begins the same way. You call or email. A short intake conversation and background check follow. You can review a video or photo walkthrough, and an in-person tour is available on request. There is a reference call. Then the $250 community fee, payment setup, and paperwork are completed before move-in.

Eligibility is confirmed during a short intake call. That is where your questions get answered for your own situation, in a private conversation rather than on a public page. The how to apply page walks through each step in detail.

Invitations, Not Preferences

You will find pages on this site written for veterans, for older adults, for working adults, for adults on a fixed income, and for adults rebuilding after a transition. Those pages exist so that people in each situation can find answers that speak to them directly.

They are invitations. They are not preferences, and they are not limits. No one is favored because of which page they read first, and no one is turned away because their situation is not described here. The Argo House follows Equal Housing Opportunity principles, which you can read about on the equal housing page.

The Same Home and the Same Rate

Everyone who lives at The Argo House shares the same home. The rate is $750 per month per bed in a shared room. It includes all utilities, a furnished room, WiFi, washer and dryer use, kitchen access, cable and streaming, and house supplies. There is a $250 community fee at move-in.

The house has 4 rooms, with 3 beds open now, and more beds can be added. Availability changes, so please call to confirm. The home is permitted through the Dallas Boarding House Department and is veteran-owned.

The Same Respect

Residents are adults with a home. They manage their own days, their own work, and their own lives. The house asks everyone to treat the home and one another with respect, and residents abstain from drug use in the house. The house expectations page describes shared living in more detail.

The Argo House is housing. It is not treatment, and it does not provide personal care, supervision, or meals. It is a steady, furnished place to live, with one clear payment and a house manager you can reach by phone.

What Every Resident Can Expect

A furnished shared room, a remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, and common spaces that are ready to use. One monthly payment that covers the household essentials. A walkable area near Lakewood and White Rock Lake, with public transportation nearby. A house manager who answers the phone.

Families and Supporters Are Welcome to Call Too

If you are calling on behalf of a parent, a sibling, an adult child, or a friend, you are welcome to ask questions. The person who would live in the home should take part in every decision, and the intake conversation is with them. Our guide of questions to ask before moving in can help you prepare together.

Joyce, our house manager, answers the phone at (469) 503-6007. You can also email property.care.solutions.tx@gmail.com.
